A fully lined high-waist swim bottom in Lime Ricki’s Terracotta print, sold on its own so the waist you order is not decided by the bust.
Highlights
✓
Fully lined — a second layer throughout rather than a gusset panel only. On a swim bottom that is the first spec to check, because it is what holds opacity once the fabric is wet.
✓
High-waist cut — it sits up toward the natural waist for coverage through the stomach, and it holds there rather than rolling down when you climb out of the pool.
✓
Terracotta, a warm earth tone — it flatters a tan the way a cool brights palette does not, and it sits happily next to cream, straw and bleached denim on the walk back from the water.
✓
80% nylon, 20% spandex, rated UPF 50+ by Lime Ricki — the blend is what gives the brief its recovery, and the sun rating lives in the fabric rather than in a finish that washes out.
✓
Nine sizes, XXS to 4X, bottom only — order it with a top a size or two apart if that is what fits; that flexibility is the reason to buy separates at all.
The matching top is the Terracotta Square Neck Crop Top, which has thick adjustable straps and a shelf bra — a square neck over a high waist leaves a narrow band of midriff rather than a wide one, which is the easiest two-piece shape to wear if you are not sure about a bikini.
Terracotta also does well under a white shirt or a linen dress, so this is a bottom that leaves the beach with you. Rinse it in cool fresh water after chlorine or salt and dry it flat out of direct sun — heat is what tires spandex, and earth tones fade in it. More in swimwear and cover-ups and the summer edit.
